Do you have to take liquids out of your bad to get through Eurostar security ?

Hello,

I am taking my wife to Paris via the Eurostar for the first time. We are super excited and as a surprise I want to hide a bottle of Champagne in my bag for us to have on the ride.

I know it is allowed to take alcohol on board the train, but if I have to take it out at security she will see it.

So when boarding the train and going through security, do they make you separate the liquids out to go through the (I assume) scanner or can it stay hidden in my bag ?

Thanks!

In normal operations, no. Your bags go through the X-ray scanner, you go through the WTMD. It takes you back to old-fashioned air travel.

However... There are rare occasions where specific security alerts cause stricter security procedures. This may, for example, be a total liquid ban (you carry all bags on board, so there's no option to check bags). I stress that this is very rare, but it can happen, and there is no way to predict it. Such is the nature of security.

Hello,
Normally not, but with all that is going on right now, people are very quick to be wary and prefer to avoid all risks so I will be you I will pay attention. As said previously, it all depends on the security
