Belgian Railways strikes 6th and 7th of January 2016

Please be advised that there is a very high chance of most Belgian trains being cancelled because of 48h strike announced by the Walloon Socialist union on Wednesday and Thursday 6th and 7th of January. Thalys, Eurostar and ICE also affected.

Also trains in the evening of Tuesday the 5th might be affected.
Some local trains in the North might still be running but due to the layout of the Belgian railroads, a strike in the south will affect most of the country.

The start of a two-day rail strike in Belgium has almost completely paralysed train services in and around the capital, Brussels.
The strikes have also caused severe delays and disruption to Eurostar services to Paris and London.
Belgian rail unions are protesting against government reforms designed to streamline services and make the industry more efficient.
