Am travelleing from Schipol to Brussels, on a restricted ticket.

I have been told by a friend that you are always allowed on to one train earlier or later if there is space. Anybody has any experience or know if it's true?

What's the exact ticket type you have? (That's likely to make a big difference)

Hi,
if you have a flex-ticket changing is easy. However a semi-flex ticket can only be changed up to one day in advance and any other other ticket is non-echangable.

From what I understood, and I've experienced it once too at Schipol, the train manager will allow you to board one train earlier or later, no matter which ticket type you hold.

I wonder if this is a fixed rule, or depends on the mood of the manager on duty.
