BCN meeting point
I'll be arriving at Terminal 4 on Air France and will be meeting up with a friend arriving on Iberia at T4 as well. I'm not sure how arrival at BCN T4 works. Do all passengers exit at one exit, or multiple exits?
Any starbucks or coffee joints at the arrivals area where I can use as a meeting point? |
There is no terminal 4 at BCN. Do you mean T2 (since it’s Air France)?
There are several exits (A, B and C). The exit depends on the airline, luggage or no, arrival from what country, etc. If you both arrive from a Schengen country and have no luggage you can easily meet up airside and then go through customs together (any exit you like). There are a lot more bars and restaurants to meet airside. If not, better to meet landside. There is a big Botero statue (a horse) in terminal 2B landside that I something use as a reference point. (Google for “Botero Barcelona airport”.) But the choice of bars is limited. I think there are only 4 bars/restaurants landside in T2A and T2B, none of them very nice. |
You are right....it's Terminal 2.
Both of us have checked-in luggage. I'm flying in from Tokyo-CDG on NH and CDG-BCN on AF on separate tickets, so hopefully I can check thru and clear customs at BCN. I assume there is a board that indicates flight information and exits for arriving pax? Or is there one specifically for customs check? |
I can’t help you with the luggage on NH + AF, but you will have to go through customs (not immigration) in BCN in any case.
When you leave the plane there will be a screen telling you to go to zone “A” or “B” to pick up your luggage. For you (on AF from CDG) it will “A”. And there are screens that tell you the zone for all arriving flights. But if you have a bus gate, they will drop you off directly at the correct zone and you will not be able to see the information for the other zones. The problem is that you friend might arrive in T2A, B or C. (Iberia uses all 3 terminals.) It’s easy enough to get from T2B to T2A landside and meet someone there (it’s one big building). But to get from T2C to T2B landside he/she will have to leave the building. (There is an interactive map of the airport here. I could not find an English version.) I would tell your friend to meet you at the far end of terminal 2A (going left after exiting customs). There is an area with a snack bar (I think “Fresh & ready”) and some tables where you can wait. And since it’s almost at the end of the building you cannot miss it. |
