I look around for this but didn't see anything immediately....Anyone know of any deals in Prague during the month of March other than the new SPG Sheraton. I may have to extend my stay - would be looking in Old Town for nice property. Less than $150US, breakfast inclusive.

Stayed there in December - ~85$ per night. Right in the Old Town.

Booked yesterday for this weekend. One of the most appreciated hotels in Prague, good location, very good access, very good service: http://www.andelshotel.com/en/home/.

Weekend prepaid rate - 64 EUR with breakfast and taxes included. I booked via phone directly with hotel, but on some websites rates wet even at ~58 EUR, depending on exchange rate.

My personal favourite is one of the two suites at the Zlaty Strom. Incredibly central, very individual, and tastefully decorated. The service is pretty good, too.
However, it's a tiny hotel and it does lack things like a big lobby, a gym and other shared facilities.

A more 'normal' upscale hotel choice that I've tried out is the Eurostars Thalia.
Old world looks on the outside- tastefully modern on the inside.

Both should be in the region of 90 Euros per night, including breakfast and internet.

I agree with your comment on Eurostars Thalia. It's located quite conveniently as well. We quite liked it there.

Priceline, bid $60, Area #1 (East) for 5 star luxury.

You should get accepted for Marriott (downtown) and with taxes totals around $70USD.

Anything neat you care to share about Prague.

My 1st trip is this May.

I have a few tips in general for people.

If you're looking for a hotel with a more local feel -- AND don't mind walking or using public transport -- I would stay in Vinohrady, in the area between Flora metro stop and Namesti Miru.

To put it simply, there are not throngs of tourists in this neighborhood. The prices in bars, cafes, and restaurants are 1/3 to 1/2 of similar things only 1km away in the center.

Trams and the metro are easily accessible and can take you anywhere you want to go. (As another aside, it is usually quicker to take the tram instead of the metro if you're going anywhere near the center of Prague, although the subway trains go much faster.)

Plus, if you're up for walking, you can walk from Namesti Miru to Staromestska Nam. (old town square) in 25 minutes, and Vaclavske Nam. (Wencesles sq.) in 10 minutes. Prague is a relatively compact (and safe!) city, so walking is an option.

In particular, here are some places to look at

Hotel City Bell (3 blocks to Metro, 3 blocks to tram, and in one of the best little neighborhoods in Prague)

Hotel Chodska (2 blocks to Metro, 1 block to tram)...right in the heart of Vinohrady, tons of cafes, restaurants, bars, etc. nearby, as well as parks, beer gardens, and some shopping.

A handy tool is the map site "mapy.cz" I find it much better than google maps. In Prague, like in some other European cities, the numbers don't necessarily line up on opposite sides of the street. So if you're at No. 51 on your side, the building across the street could be No. 4, or No. 102. They're in order, but they don't start over with each new block. This website shows the street numbers. Plus, it shows hotels, restaurants, metro stops, tram stops, bus stops, ATMs, theaters, etc. Also has a good photomap: (click Fotographie on the left side). The hotels, restaurants, etc., are clickable and often will lead you to an independent website.

I'm always happy to answer specific questions, particularly about beer gardens, neighborhoods, walking and transportation. Not so good at really expensive restaurants and shopping.

Priceline Prague $70
 

Hey, just wanted to add a hotel that might come up on Priceline. I too thought I would get Mariott. I bid 5* west and east added other area so I could rebid.
Anyways, Ended up with Corinthia Towers for July. Thankfully only 1 night. Was abit disapointed because I could have bought this for on Priceline's regular site for $86.00 the Marriott goes for closer to 150.00 per night on Pricelines regular site when I checked last.

It's really a pretty good location. The hotel sits on top of a Metro station, has great views, and is right next to Vysehrad. Definitely spend a good part of a day in Vysehrad, checking out the church, the statues, the cemetery, the views, and the beer garden (one of my favorites in Prague).
