SBB Halbtax combo with Visa
 

Hopefully there are some SBB experts out there?

I got my renewal form for my halbtax card, and this time they offer to combine it for me with a pre or post paid Visa. Is this a good deal? I'm not sure I understand it well since my Deutsche is not so good and I can't get them to send me mail in French.

you get that VISA for ne fee - but no miles or other bonus ...

and I doubt that you get it anyway without a swiss banking account (without a swiss credit rating).

Thanks Rudi. I can't read the fine print, but I think you must be right that I need a Swiss bank account. So I wonder why they mailed this to my French address?

I was thinking of getting a Swiss bank acct anyways. Maybe this will push me to finally do that.

there are several thousands of swiss (many of them reitired) living in France but maintaining their swiss banking (and credit card) relations.

Thanks, I should have thought of that. I have a Swiss couple as a neighbor here and they even have Swiss plates on their car.
