TGV purchases in the US

I need to get from London to Paris in Aug, one way, planning on taking the TGV direct. I'm looking for the least expensive way to do this, purchasing from the US. I've searched FT and didn't find much, yet haven't really beaten on Google yet. Ideas?

Thanks!

You wouldn't find much searching for TGV on the London-Paris service. It's called Eurostar. Try that in the search box. ;)

definitely www.eurostar.com try different country sides (sometimes interesting promotions and you can still pick up the tickets at the departure station if you can't get them sent online. there are several threads in this forum, in france forum and maybe even in Uk & london forum.

ps: the only person who ever took a tgv under the channel was tom cruise in mission impossible. all other have to take the eurostar ;)

TRUE, but at Gare du Nord in Paris was a very long line .. I almost missed the train. However, when you are very late for boarding it's done in a minute or so, no lines at security or else.

I did some digging this morning, working a few sites, and it seems to be about $225 for super-restricted 1st, or $450 for super-1st (meal included). That's for one-way. What's confusing is, when I plugged in some round-trip dates, the round-trip price appeared to be less then a one-way ticket. Is this normal?

Quite normal. Airline (some) pricing system on rails.

but you can always buy a return and not use it - if cheaper ;)
