Changes to Swiss pass, flexi pass?

This link says that some interesting changes have happened, can someone please confirm?

http://www.meleterc.com/Page512swiss.html#Flexipass

Specifically I would like to know if both these passes are now considered as half fare cards. If so it mentions that it is so only on off days, what exactly is an off day.

Please confirm if the prices to Jungfraujoch is correct with a swiss pass/flexi pass at USD 71

On the train to the Jungfrauenjoch you only get 25% discount. Here is a link to an official map about where the Swisspass/Swiss Flexipass is accepted and how much discount you get. The map says: Jungfraujoch discount 25%.

Checked the price from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch on the Swiss Railroad homepage and with the 25% discount I got 72CHF (Swiss Franks)

For more information look here, too:

also does the train to Grindelwald free or is that also 25% off?

flyingfkb Jan 20, 2008 5:17 pm

I just typed in Grindelwald->Jungfraujoch and it said 96CHF. 25% of 96 are 24 makes 72CHF at the end. According to the map the whole route Grindelwald->Jungfraujoch is just 25% discount.

Sorry about the second link. Was a Copy&Paste mistake on my behalf.

An off-day is a day within the validity period of your pass, but not one of the entered "countable" travel days.

"On the days between the first and the last validated day, your Swiss Flexi Pass offers a 50% discount on train, postal bus and boat rides, as well as on most mountain-top trains."
It basically functions like this on off days: http://mct.sbb.ch/mct/en/reisemarkt/...te/halbtax.htm

hmm, i'm getting 158 chf round trip before discount.

158CHF is the roundtrip, 96CHF is one way. I just gave you the oneway price since I had no idea where you want to go after seeing Jungfraujoch.

The Swiss pass gets you to Grindelwald free. You have to pay to go up from there. Same goes for the other side..Lauterbrunen(spelling)
