Private Apartments
Does anyone have experience with some of the sites that advertise private apartments? Many have rates for 2 at between 70 and 100 Euros and seem quite nice from the photos and including washing machines often and some have balconies. We're heading to Prague next September and were curious about trying this option vs. a hotel.

Here are a couple of good restaurants/beer halls to visit:
A good Czech Brew house restaurant is U MEDVIDKU http://www.umedvidku.cz/, Jilska 4, Praha 1.
A famous beer hall is U FLEKU, which also contains a Beer Museum. This brew hall has a great dark beer. The address is Kremencova 11, Praha 1. To get there with the Metro, take the 'B' line to Narodni Trida. tel 224934019-20 http://www.ufleku.cz/en/

The apartments are large, clean, but spartan. We stayed in Old Town #7

They arranged airport pickup both ways to and from the apartment.

Travelex at the airport indeed has rip-off rate and ridiculous 5% comission, but I don't think there is really any need to exchange money at the airport with these thiefs. Even if you arrive without any local currency, you can:
a) withdraw cash from the ATM
b) buy public transport tickets from the Transport Company (DPP) booth (in both arrival halls, close to the exit from airside, open daily 7-22), look for illuminated red-white sign with Bus-Tram-Metro. You will need 20 CZK ticket to get from the airport. They accept plastic money, even if you pay for just two tickets (40 CZK). They also sell the the multi-day public transport passes (good for unlimited travel on any bus, metro, tram and Petrin funicular train for 24/72/168 hours) I mentioned earlier.
Good exchange office downtown is eXchange just behind the church on the Old Town Square

or the exchange office in mezzanine of the exit from the Malostranska metro station (line A)
