I'm going in June and judging from how much we paid for our hotel, Prague is not cheap.

I guess that depends on where you want to stay - there are plenty ***-hotels where you can get a room for two for under $100 in June, as long as you don't mind to stay a little outside the city center (which, BTW is not a big deal due to good public transportation).

I guess I had something very specific in mind in staying there and that is a lot of the fun for me. I'm big into the boutique hotels and I've wanted to stay at the Hotel Josef for years and years. If we are going that far I'm going to stay exactly where I want to. Who knows if I will ever be back there again. But ever before arriving, it seems from all the research I've done that Budapest, where we went last year, was cheaper all in all. But I can't wait, it's going to be great.

It's certainly not the bargain it once was. It's been a little more discovered, and the strength of the Euro has pushed a lot of people into traveling to less expensive places than Western Europe.
