Kiev Visa Application?
 

Anyone know where I can download a copy of a Russian visa application from the Russian Embassy in Kiev? I went with my application from the US Consulate last time and they would not take it. I'd like to be better prepared this time.

Kiev is in Ukraine, not Russia. Do you want to go to Russia or Ukraine?

Please, be informed that on August 18, 2005, the President of Ukraine signed Decree No. 1175/2005, amending the President's Decree No. 1008/2005 of June 30, 2005 on the Ukrainian visa requirements for the citizens of the United States of America.
According to the Decree No. 1008/2005 and the amendments to it introduced by the Decree No. 1175/2005 the US citizens do not need a visa to enter Ukraine if the period of their stay does not exceed 90 days.

For the US citizens who enter Ukraine with the purpose of employment, permanent residency, study and work at the diplomatic missions of the United States in Ukraine or with any other purpose, if the period of their stay in Ukraine is more than 90 days, visas are required.

I understood woody125's post to mean that he wants to apply for a Russian visa from a Russian consulate in the Ukraine. And given the fact that he spends a fair amount of time in OVB (Novosibirsk, Russia), he should be well acquainted with the geography of the region. :rolleyes:

Yes, that is what I meant. My problem is that the Ukrainians who work at the Russian Consulate only want to see a Russian Visa Application that is provided by the Russian Consulate in Ukraine. It's basically the same as the one I get in DC except it has Kiev, Ukraine, written across the top instead of Washington, D.C. So, I'm trying to find a site to download the Ukrainian version of the Russian Visa Application. No surprise this is confusing to others who read it. I'm getting confused myself actually.

Anyway, thanks for any help anyone can provide. I'm doing this for a friend who is leaving here (here being OVB) tomorrow going to KBP that might (or might not) need a visa to make a transit back through Moscow on Thursday as she returns to the States. I speak Russian so it's nothing to me to explain to the good folks in Kiev that the D.C. version should suffice. My friend speaks not a word so I'm hoping to give her every chance to get it right the first time.
