Palazzo Munich

Did anybody try one of the Palazzos in Munich (Witzigmann or Schuhbeck)? Which one is the better choice?

In 10 days I can give you detailed information on one of the two. My GF has invited me to .... hm I can't remember if it was the one or the other :D :D

But recently I read an article in a german magazin about those events. And the meals at one of those were rated really bad... I will have a look if I have the magazin still at home and if so I will post the details.

Cheers,
M

Not sure how the quality is these days, when it initially started in Munich something like two years ago at least Witzigmann's Palazzo was very good.

OK, here we go. Last Sunday evening I spent a few hours at Witzigmann Palazzo in Munich.

The Palazzo itself is near the Olympic park. Enough parking space for cars. If you take the "S-Bahn" it's a walk about roughly 15-20 minutes. So if you want to drink more than a glass I recommend a taxi. The show starts at 7pm and takes nearly 4hours.

Eating:
The four courses were really good. I did enjoy it. Although, it was not exactly too much. But they serve bread all the time so you won't leave hungry. :D Details about the meals are on the web site.

Drinking:
That was a bit of a drawback. I eat a lot in restaurants, stay in hotels etc. So I'm familiar with a few wine lists. In my opinion the price they charge for the wines are much too high. Also I had to drive home with my car - but there was no wine by the glass and only two or three "half bottels" (0.375 lit) of red wine - and no Shiraz there :(

Show:
The show was really amazing. It was a good mixture between show, slapstick, comedy, music, entertainment. Great. Absolutely great.

The interior design/atmosphere
A kind of circus tent with an arena. Around it 6 round tables for each 6 persons. Around those tables a lot of square tables for 10 or 12 each. And then again some tables on the outer circle - a bit higher than the rest so that you can see the show. We had our seats in the inner circle. You will also get something to eat on the other tables - but we were served first :). Anyway, IMHO those round tables are the best choice. Also make sure that you get your seats quickly - and take two chairs facing the ring. The table itself is too small for 6 persons but that was the same with all the tables. Cutlery for four courses and a dinner plate need a bit of room.

Let's put it into figures:
eat: 7/10
drink: ~5.5/10 (I can't tell you anything about the quality of their '97 Barolo :D :D
show 8/10
service 8/10
money/value 6/10

Total: ^

Cheers,
Michael

Many thanks to all.

In the meantime, I visited Schubeck's Palazzo. Interesting performance and good food. Mr. Schuhbeck was even present at the end of the show.
