Help with transportation from NCE to Monte Carlo
 

My parents are flying into Nice, France (NCE) and have to get to the port in Monte Carlo to board their cruise ship. Can anybody recommend a reliable car service or provide any other suggestions? If they take a taxi, how much should the trip cost? Thanks for your help!

There is an airport bus as well you can use which goes directly from the airport to Monte Carlo...

use monaco as arrival, travel between 19 and 30min, costs 3,10€

7 min in... helicopter (Heli Air Monaco). 73 € one way + airport tax. They operate every 20 or 30 min from Nice airport. They have a complimentary pick up / drop off shuttle service in Monaco. I took them once 2 years ago and found their service excellent (but the flight was too short :( ). Needless to comment on the fantastic view over St Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu and Cap d'Ail. :cool:

Bus is 23 € one way, every hour between 09:00 AM and 09:15 PM and it takes 45 min (can take much longer depending on the traffic jam on the highway and especially entering in Monaco).

I don't remember the price for a cab, certainly somewhere between 23 € (bus) and 73 € (heli). If it's over 50 €, the helicopter is a no brainer IMHO.

Wow, unless there's some freak occurence of bad weather and poor visibility sounds like the helicopter is absolutely the way to go.

Actually, the helicopter experience is completely different from a traditional "flight". Stronger sensations, due to the noise and vibrations. I remember very well seeing the sea... between my legs :eek:. I'm not sure it's a good thing to recommend to people suffering from vertigo.

It sounds like the travellers are sailing the same day that they fly into NCE, but if they are staying at a Société des Bains de Mer hotel the night before the sailing, SBM used to offer a discount for the helicopters - I'm not sure if this still is offered.
