Paris CDG Airport FAQ
I tried to collect general information on CDG Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris and to give answers to the questions, you may have, concerning connections,lounges,ground transportation, etc.
CDG Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris, that is:
Terminal CDG1
(oneworld and StarAlliance)
and the newer Terminal CDG2 (mostly used by AirFrance and Skyteam Carrier)
CDG2 Terminal A,B,C,D and Rail Station
CDG 2 Terminal E,F
CDG2E on reduced service since the accident last year here is the FlyerTalk thread with info about CDG 2E
All Airlines with local contact information and Terminal at CDG can be found here
Terminal 1
When you get off the plane, follow the "Correspondance Transfer" signs up to the Transfer desk to check your departure terminal.
• If your connection is at Terminal 1:
- You do not need to go through police controls
- Find out which departure satellite you have to go to at one of the two Transfer desks between satellites 2-3 and 4-5
• If your connection is at Terminal 2:
- For an international flight: Take the Aéroports de Paris shuttle bus (within customs zone) at satellite 3
- Domestic flight or Schengen: Follow the "Sortie - Exit" signs and proceed to police controls
Take the Aéroports de Paris shuttle bus (line 1) at shop level
• If your connection is at Terminal 3:
- Follow the "Sortie - Exit" signs and proceed to police controls, then collect your luggage
- Next take the Aéroports de Paris shuttle bus (line 2) at shop level
• If your connection is at Terminal Sud or Terminal Ouest at Orly Airport:
Follow the "Sortie - Exit" signs and proceed to police controls
- To get to Orly by the RER B + automatic metro Orlyval:
Take the Aéroports de Paris shuttle bus (line 2) at shop level, in the direction of Gare RER 1
Next take the RER B to Antony RER station, and then follow the Orlyval connection for Orly Airport
- To go to Orly on the Air France bus:
Take the shuttle at arrival level, exit 34
Unfortunately, the RER B and Air France buses do not provide facilities for disabled people; it is recommended that alternative arrangements be made in advance.

AIR FRANCE has the following lounges at the CDG2 Terminal.
Access policy:
You can use Air France´s and SkyTeam´s lounges if:
* you fly in L´Espace Premičre (First) or L´Espace Affaires (Business),
* you are a Flying Blue Gold or Platinum, SkyTeam Elite Plus, or Club 2000 member,
* you travel as a first class or business class passenger on an international SkyTeam flight.
Tempo Challenge passengers have access to lounges at CDG2.
List of Air France lounges
- Paris CDG2 A East: Smoking, Internet+WiFi+Shower
- Paris CDG2 B: non smoking, Internet+WiFi+Shower
- Paris CDG2 C (Arrival Lounge landside): Smoking, Internet+WiFi+Shower

Departures Lounge
During departures or connecting flights, and during all Air France and SkyTeam stopovers, our Departures lounge can offer you:
* light dining with a large choice of beverages
* Business and Communications space (telephone, fax, PC, printer, free Internet access)
* international newspapers
* comfortable armchairs
* showers in certain airports
* LCD screens
* smoking area in most lounges
Arrivals Lounge
Feel fresh and relaxed when you arrive at Paris/Charles-de-Gaulle
* spacious shower stalls
* clothes pressing service
* a substantial breakfast
* Business and Communications space (telephone, fax, PC, printer, free Internet access)
* international newspapers
* an area with LCD screens
* smoking area
* reservations service for those traveling to Paris
Location: Paris/Charles-de-Gaulle, Terminal 2C : outside the customers area, opposite gate C2
Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All Skyteam Carriers use AF lounges in CDG2
restaurants, shopping:
You can take a moment to relax in one of the many Terminal bars (Café Sélect, France Café, etc.). There are also various Relay shops on hand, selling newspapers, magazines and books.
Are you waiting for a transfer and have to stay in the airside zone? If so, make the most of the occasion to do a little shopping. You will find all the major Paris fashion brands …at duty-free prices!
You can also eat in one of the several restaurants available, such as the Hippopotamus, Clément Ader and Brasserie Flo. McDonalds (between 2A and 2C, between 2B and 2D) and Quick (2F) can be found at the airport, too
If you feel like a change of hairstyle, there is a hairdressing salon (Coiffure Christian Gilles) in the hall of Terminal 2F.
ground transportation
you have three ways to get into town with public ground transportation
RATP is the local metro and bus company. Serving the Airport with commuter trains RER trains from the railstation between Terminal ABCD and EF.
The other way to get to downtown Paris is the bus.
Its operated by RATP and its called Roissybus
or you can use the Air France Coaches

Very good idea! Transferring at CDG is not always that easy or fun. I would like it if we could include good restaurants or other places nice to wait in.

Hmmm... Sorry for me not responding sooner but I am under the gun with some major deadlines at the moment (and I thought summer was a dead period!).
I think this thread may be better served as :
a) a sticky
and
b) more appropriately in the Paris airports forum as opposed to here. Why? Because even though its AF's hub, it's not relevant to FB (besides, will we have a similar one for Schipol?).
I'm open to comments before moving it...

Requested information; Minimum Connection Time. (For T1<->T2 I believe it is as much as 2 hours!!!)

I think it's useful to have it here, rather than the Paris airport forum, which I haven't been in in my life. With the merging of AF/KLM, then I would imagine many KLM fliers are going to be using CDG rather more than previously, so it would be useful to have this info somewhere to hand..
