CDG Terminal 2 Transfer question
 

I have a somewhat tight transfer in CDG from Terminal 2D to 2F, with less than an hour between the flights (Air France). Since I'm not familiar with the airport, I'm looking for some advice. For example, is it preferrable to take the shuttle bus, or is it possible to walk to 2F?

Taking a shuttle bus is the worst possible thing to do, IMHO.

Take a look at the map below (it's not the greatest, but it'll give you a general idea of the layout):

The shuttles go in a sort of circle from A to C to F to D to B (then back around), so the flow is opposite to what you need (plus they are always jam-packed - the drivers don't leave until people are squeezed into conditions that most sardines would object to) ;)


It's easy to walk - looking at the map, at the extreme right of 2D (near Door 3, but you stay inside), you would walk down the corridor (part of the way is via handy moving sidewalks). Walk right on past the Sheraton hotel and the train stations, down another walkway, and you will be at the entrance to 2F.

There are plenty of rolling carts for your luggage and the walkways are nice and wide to accomodate the carts. 10-15 minutes, no problem :)

I fully agree with Non-NonRev . You should definitely walk from 2D to 2F. It is a short and pleasant walk and the best choice, except when the incoming flight is somewhat late and you have a nice AF agent waiting to drive you directly to your next flight. :)

I was in the same situation - less than one hour connection at CDG.

That's what happened:

ATL-CDG on AF .. walk to the next gate .. for the flight CDG-LIS . I made it, in LIS I found out, my checked baggage did not! At least 8 or 10 other pax from this flight didn't get their baggage.

I have made the connection from 2F to 2D several times recently. I didn't have to go from the very end of 2F to the very end of 2D and passport control was also very fast: it took not more than 10min (I walked fast but didn't run).
