Prague Hotels
I'm planning on spending two days in Prague in mid-October, and am looking for suggestions for a good-quality, not too expensive hotel in the city, preferably in the centre.

U Tri Postru. Nuff said.

Aria Hotel
I'll be at the Aria Hotel this Sat --rate of e 195 includes airport pick up, full breakfast in room (or in dining room), evening cocktails, health club etc-- I will post some picks and a review next Monday.

If you want old-Prague charm, try U Tri Postru right on the castle end of the bridge. |
''U Tri Pstrosu"
FYI, aparently this is the spelling for that hotel  -- Be aware some of the comments on TripAdvisor mention that there is no elevator and it is a four story walk-up. So if you have lots of heavy luggage you may want to request a lower floor or go for a different hotel.

Thanks for the spelling correction. I'm amazed I remember anything in Czestina. Anyhow, the hotel has a porter for your bags. When you see it you won't be surprised it doesn't have an elevator. It's several hundred years old! I guess I should add one disclaimer. If you get one of the fabulous corner rooms overlooking the Charles Bridge, and it's a weekend night in the summer, you may be kept up til 2am from the loud chatter of tourists walking across the bridge after a night of revelry.

I booked the Cloister Inn via the BA Holidays website and received a great rate for a stay a couple months ago for my daughter and I. The Cloister Inn was clean, neat, orderly and well situated. The inclusive breakfast was exceptionally well done and there was a high speed computer terminal in the lobby for the free use of guests. There is a Tram stop 5 minutes walk away and the Charles Bridge is less than 10 minutes walk. The rate via BA Holidays was better than other booking mechanisms that I checked.

Marriott / Renaissance
Stayed in Marriott and Renaissance Hotel in Prague(-East) in April/May this year.
Centrally located (opposite of each other, walking distance to Powder tower) and usual first-class comfort (nothing exceptional, however - the Marriott is slighty better than the Renaissance in Prague, IMO), you can try with Priceline (around 90-130 USD/night); Moevenpick Hotel (4 star in Priceline) should be very fine and in nice location as well. (Prague-West) Check for hotelscoop.com for hotel photos of Marriott & Renaissance. |
While I didn't stay there, both the Marriott & Renaissance are very close to the stop for the airport van (which is also next to a major metro stop - Nameski Republicy). The van costs 90kc and runs every half hour to the airport.

Can we get more of a report on the PRG Intercontinental? What sort of upgrades do they give to Platinum Ambasetur members? I was also thinking of the Hilton, but I am told it is not very centrally located. Are there other web sites that would be recommended for browsing hotels in Prague?

The Intercontinental forum has a thread on the Prague property. |

Can't remember the exact name of the van, but it is very easy to spot. There will be signs outside the main terminal. It is just a small mini-van--but it does have its name boldly printed on it's sides. Very easy trip to the city center this way, and the Marriott is about a block down from the stop. Upon exiting the van, go to your right to the corner of Neveski Republiski (sp), then make a left (same side of the street) you'll come right to the Marriott about a block down (you will see the Rennaissance directly across the street from it). Here's the link for the shuttle:
