Rome to Civitavecchia by Train
These might be a really dumb questions, but forgive me as this is my first European train trip, and a search didn't come up with any answers...
1) On the train from Rome to Civitavecchia, do you check your luggage, or do you store everything in the luggage racks above you? 2) If you don't check luggage, would you recommend getting a chain lock for the bags so they don't disappear if we fall asleep? From what I can tell, you check bags on long trips, but this is only 1 hour or so..thanks for your help! |
You just take your bags with you on the train. You can store them on the rack above your seat or in the storage bins at the end of each car. You can easily keep an eye on the bags if they are stored overhead. Alternatively, you can try to get a seat adjacent to the storage bin at the end of the car. For a one hour trip I don't think you'll need a luggage chain; but if spending $5 or so for a chain will give you peace of mind, then by all means, go for it. Just remember to unlock your chain a few minutes before the train arrives at your stop. Sometimes the train only stops for a minute or two and you don't want to be fumbling with your lock and not be able to get off in time. Have a great trip.
