Two Heathrow Questions

1. Looking to travel by tube from Heathrow to Bayswater. Looks like the most direct route is to change at Earls Court, but I seem to revall a cross platfrom transfer available at Berons Court while the transfer at Earls Court is longer. Would need to change again at Earls Court anyway, but that would be a simple one staying on the Disrict line. Would have some bags, not a lot.

2. The BAA web site indicates that the obsersation stand (I beleive on the roof of T1 or T2) is closed, anyone have more info on this? Is this temporary? And what of the fine bookshop up there?

Thanks in advance.

There are several cross-platform changes from the Piccadilly line to the District line. First one is at Acton Town (or Acton something) which is usually recommended if you are travelling on a weekday morning. I think Hammersmith is another (very last one before Earls Court). Earls Court change on the District line is a cross-platform affair. You will face stairs at Bayswater.
