Shower facilities at LHR?

I will be arriving this Saturday morning around 9 AM on the AA flight from Miami. My plan is to head into London to visit friends for the day but would first like to wash up a bit. Does anybody know if there are shower facilities in & around the terminal where American flights arrive? FWIW, I "may" be traveling J class if my upgrade goes through--not sure if that would open any other options as far as Admirals Club access... Many thanks.

AA has an arrivals lounge - you should ask on the AA forum whether an upgraded ticket can use the lounge (it is upstairs after customs... no arriving pax can use departure lounges). Also there is a large facility on a per-fee basis, and I forgot what it is called. You will see ads for it while walking from the plane.

As said above, there are lots of posts on shower facilities at LHR. AA Arrivals after customs is open to upgraded business class with your boarding card. AC is not supposed to let you in but there are posts of people being able to get in as arriving pax. There are public shower rooms available also with a fee for the towel.

From the BAA website on Heathrow:

Showers
Showers are available in three of the four terminals.
Terminal 1
Before security

Terminal 3
Departure lounge, next to the comfort and care lounge

Terminal 4
Before and after security

Additional shower facilities are available in the Flight Connections Centre.

Gee, pretty lucky that AA lets upgrades use the arrivals. UA doesn't.
