http://www.customs.admin.ch in german 1) Fundamentals: Within the scope of the tax and duty free limit of SFr 300, foodstuffs (excluding alcoholic beverages), meat and meat products for private consumption on one's own household are basically duty free to the extend that they are imported personally while travelling. With regards to sensitive agricultural products, there are limits on quantities. 2) Tax free maximum allowable amounts (duty on access quantities): * Butter and cream total 1 litre/kg * Milk, cheese, curds and other milk products total 5 litres/kg * Eggs 2,5kg * Vegetables per variety 20kg * Fruits per variety 20kg * Meat and edible offal, fresh or frozen, horse, donkey, mule and hinny total 0,5 kg * Meat and dible offal, fresh, cold or frozen: Domestic poultry (chicken, duck, goose, turkey and guinea fowl). * Meat products, sausages, prepared meat products and tinned meat products of the animals above, total 3,5 kg * Meat and meat productsfrom other animals in addition to the mentioned above (game, rabbit, ostrich, fish, seafood, etc.) total 20kg * Wheat and milled products per variety 20kg * Potatoe products (chips, crisps, etc) 2,5 kg * Oils, fats and margarine total 4 litres/kg Apple juice, pear juice and grape juice, cider and perry total 3 litres * caviar allowance is only 250 grams per person Duty-free alcohol (for persons 17 and over) * Up tp 15% vol 2 litres and over 15% vol 1 litre [This message has been edited by Rudi (edited Feb 25, 2004).] |
