Hotels in Milan
 

Any suggestions on a hotel in Milan that isn't too expensive for a night?

Stayed at Hotel Duca once. Very close to the Central Train Station and bus service to Malpensa. It was about a year ago and got it for about $50.00US (single room). I used the Hotel locating service at the train station. They had alot of rooms at various properties to pick from. http://www.venere.com/cgi/hotels/pgw...ref=1152&lg=en

Thanks for the suggestion. I couldn't find your suggested hotel at that booking site, but I did find an alternative that appears to be cheap and got reasonable reviews.

The posted link took me directly to the Hotel Duca on venere.com.

I think if you just do venere.com, only the hotels with rooms available show up.

I think the site is originally an Italian site, venere.it, and has a very large selection of small hotels all over Italy.

Some of the data is 2 years old.

After you book on it, fax the hotel, as the conformations I have received state"not confirmed until the hotel sends conformation". Although this has never been a problem, the hotels have never sent conformation until I fax.

Just to let you know I was just showing a hotel I once stayed at and not necessarily endorsing the venere.com site.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hotel Cervo adjacent to Malpensa Airport? I'm looking to stay there for a night before an early flight. It looks convenient because it is quite close. The price is not bad. I'm just wondering if the rooms are properly soundproofed. Anybody have any experience with this property? Or can you recommend another hotel near the airport that is clean, decent, and not too expensive (under $110 a night)?

There's a little cheap hotel a block from the Galleria and the Cathedral and its plaza called the Hotel Speronari - Rick Steves has apparently spoken of it - I thought it was perfectly acceptable, basic, but cheap, clean, quiet and centrally located. I would stay there again if I was doing it on a budget.
