Paris to Rome
Flying a family of 5 from Paris to Rome mid-June. Price is not a concern. Is it worth gambling with one of the low cost carriers (Transavia or Vueling) to fly from ORLY and avoid CDG? Or are we better off catching a major carrier flight from CDG?

Where are you coming from, what are your concerns? Any requirements?

Remember that LCC have strict rules on baggage and enforce them.
So before booking do your research on what’s included in the base fare and what’s an add on fee and what weight / size bag is allowed etc. |

Coming from our hotel in central Paris (Madame Reve). I like the idea of Orly being smaller/less chaotic/ less prone to ATC delays than CDG. Concern is the images I’ve seen of ridiculously long baggage check lines and questionable on-time performance on the LCCs. Will aim for a direct flight between 9-11 am, and we will each have one checked bag.

Otherwise if you really want to enjoy the quieter ORY, use Vueling which operates from ORY 2 which is lovely - Easyjet and Transavia use ORY 1 and 3 respectively and neither is better than CDG in regards to crowds and waiting times. |
Everything has been said but another factor to consider is, in case of irrops, it's much better to deal with a full service carrier. LCC are horrible for this.
