Is there a place in VIE airport that sells Sachertorte?

I'd like to take Sachertortes home as gifts, can I only get them from the hotel/cafe? Or are there 3rd party retailers, for example, the airport duty free shop?

Also, how are they packaged? Is it just the cake in a box? Or is there a cold pack too that I need to worry about? I assume passing security in VIE will be no problem, but I'll have to be rescreened for my connecting flight at YYZ (aka the worst airport in the world), so while cake isn't technically against the rules, I wouldn't put it past security to try and take it from me.

Definitely available airside at VIE. As far as I remember, they're just packaged in a box.

I know that one should not argue about matters of taste, thus, this is my own and i'm not trying ti impose it on any one. Still, I think that the Sacher Torte is the most overrated sweet in Europe...

After waiting in the cold in line at the restaurant, I would have to agree with this. Lots of better options in Vienna.

Data point is pre covid but bought Sacher torte at the airport packaged in wood boxes. No issuesbringung in to the US.
