What is the general availability of paying for extra luggge on a European flight?
I am looking to take a few bags from one country to another with me on a 1-way flight, and I would prefer to not have to go through land border formalities. Yes, I know the airlines are going to make me take a hit, but the ordinary avenues to move stuff "in these times" will be difficult. I have to figure out how much stuff I will keep and how much I will need to throw out.

This is a ridiculously vague question.
You’ve not mentioned the countries involved or any route or airlines who might operate on those routes,
How many bags is “a few” for example?

@swampwiz: I guess that if you had called your airline instead of posting this vague question here, you'd already have the exact answer...
PS By the way, there are no "land border formalities" at all to expect, all countries you'll pass through are Schengen members!
