Turkey Inter-City Travel restrictions

Hopefully this won't apply to me as I arrive after May 17 (Though I see the PCR test is extended until May 31)

https://tr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information-2/
https://translate.google.com/transla...esi-gonderildi

Using those two sources. A little difference.

The US Embassy website implies all inter-city travel is restricted ALL THE TIME except for selected reasons.

The Turkish website implies only during curfew hours (And the curfew does not apply to tourists)

3. Intercity travels of OUR citizens, except for public transportation, will not be allowed during the period and days (weekdays and weekends) in which the curfew is applied, except for compulsory situations.

later...

Foreigners who are in our country only temporarily / for a short time within the scope of touristic activities will be exempted from the curfew

Any insights / clarification? Got a 1-way rental car Antalya-Izmir.

Of course I am watching the "cases" and expect them to drop rapidly soon thus ensuring these rules only last until May 16/17.

Intercity travel is restricted only during curfew hours.
There was an era where intercity travel was totally not allowed by private vehicles but that's in the past.

You would be OK, however, if possible restrict your intercity travel ( crossing city limits ) between Monday-Friday 05:00-19:00.
The police officers would probably let you go as you're a tourist, however, they might not speak English.

Thanks ISTFlyer!

I did get a new Int'l Driving Permit FWIW. Though obvious I would be a tourist.

My schedule does have me driving everyday....I'm just gonna plan that it restrictions will May 17. Levels will be down.
