Buying a watch at IST dutyfree

Hi,

Could members here comment on any watch bargains at IST dutyfree, especially for higher-end brands like Tag Heuer and Longines?.

Cheers

Cheers ^.

The Tag Heuer Aquaracer quartz line seems quite nice, so if you could glance at the offerings and price that would be highly appreciated.

Not really the same thing, but I had a quick glance at the gin section when I was passing through IST and the prices were higher than they would be duty-paid at home in the UK...

Are high-end items at IST priced in TRY or USD? If TRY then IMO the only way you would get a real bargain would be if the lira dropped suddenly and this was reflected in your credit card exchange rate but airport shop prices had not yet caught up.

Barring a few perfumes and colognes, I've found Duty Free shopping at IST to be significantly more expensive than those at other airports. The luxury brands are hit or miss - Hugo Boss has great deals, however my wife found the LV store to be at least 30% more expensive than the States.

The LV store is NOT European prices, so definitely avoid if you’re already heading to another European city.

These days most stores have websites and email addresses so check the IST website and email the store direct and ask them for prices. The more specific you are the more easily they can help!

Thanks but that was the first thing I did, before asking here.
As you can see the information on the official IST website is terse, nothing much besides a name list of shops:

I don't know if this is the right watch you are looking for.. there are different sizes of this watch and different prizes.. this one is the 40 mm one. They don't have other watches from the series you are looking for.
