I day in Amsterdam What to see/do
 

Folks,

I have a quick trip to AMS tonight, and have never been. I've got all of tomorrow to explore. Any advice on what to see and do in a day? I'll have my 12 year old with me, so kid friendly would be ideal.

Weather looks a bit dodgy for tomorrow, so consider some indoor activities: tropenmuseum and nemo are two options that will probably be less busy than the usual suspects. It's a three day weekend in may places in Europe so lots of tourists will be around.

Oddball suggestion: rent some bikes and have a ride towards the markenmeer, and see for example Monnickendam or Muiden and its castle. But it'll probably be very windy so it might be less than fun.
