Transportation to the new Istanbul Airport
I've heard that the city Metro does not (yet) connect the new airport; however, aside from taxis, what other methods are there? I'll be going to the Taksim Square area.

For some reason, that app doesn't give a price quote. Has anyone here used Uber to/from the new airport?
The bus looks like a good option as well, right to Taksim! |
Uber is now banned in Turkey. Lyft doesn't operate.
If you want to use the Havaist bus to Taksim, you must take bus İST-19. The price is ₺18 per person. Be aware that only credit cards and Istanbulkart's are a valid method of payment and no cash is accepted. A taxi would cost around ₺150+tolls. |
I have an Istanbulkart - I presume I can recharge it at those Bilet machines at the airport.
On my last visit, I purchased a sightseeing pass for a few days - is that a different card than the transit pass/Istanbulkart, or can they be combined? |

Single/multiple tickets and Istanbulkart cannot be combined. You could recharge your Istanbulkart at the ticket machines at the airport cash ( no commission ) or credit card ( with a small commission ). |
I’ve reserved private transport to/from the city center with this company in July and August and will report back. Update: pickup and transfer went as smooth as one could hope for even with a three hour delay on our inbound flight. Kept updating them about the delay via text. I definitely recommend their service to families/groups or people unfamiliar with Istanbul |
