Evening in Budapest

I am organising a trip to Budapest for two older gentlemen, one of whom is my uncle. One evening they would like a guide (either sex, but not too young) who could recommend and accompany them to a restaurant for dinner and them take them to some bars / live music venues etc. Essentially they are looking for a quide / translator for the evening. Does anybody have any recommendations for such a guide?

Why do they need to be guided to a restaurant and bars? Do they not speak English, in which case you need to specify which language they speak. Do they have mobility problems, in which case perhaps the concierge at their hotel could assist with restaurant bookings and taxis?

Within central Budapest they definitely won’t need a translator.

What sort of bars / live music do they have in mind? Budapest has a very popular night life and there are pub tours but they are more designed for younger bar hoping types.

Our go-to spot (in District VII) is Köleves, https://kolevesvendeglo.hu/en/frontpage/vendeglo/etlap

On the Buda side, a friend swears by Csalogány 26, Csalogány 26 étterem | Csalogány 26 étterem

We have never used this person but the reviews seem good:

The restaurant in the Hilton is actually not bad at all. Once you leave the hotel and turn left to the square there also a few others but remember that they will be more touristy just because of the location but very easily walked to.

The entire castle area is a bit isolated in regards to walking but if you are willing to take a taxi or try mass transit then the city is within easy reach. A great area is around the octagon metro station with a few side streets packed with all sorts of restaurants

Jewish Quarter

New York Cafe in District VII has fabulous art nouveau architecture. But really Budapest has a wonderful nightlife and lots of bohemian restaurants. Exploring by foot is recommended. While I am happy to recommend a non professional Hungarian guide, its not really needed - as others have suggested.

I've eaten tons and tons in Budapest, and in my experience, eater.com covers it well.

If you just want 2 straight answers, I'd say Costes or Olimpia, with Mak a 3rd
