Applying for Schengen visas in Denver or Seattle

As far as I know, there aren't any consulates in either Denver or Seattle that issue Schengen visas and that people who reside there would have to travel to LA or SFO or HOU depending on the country. Are there any consulates in either of these cities that issue Schengen visas that I'm oblivious to? Or else are there any Schengen consulates that allow me to apply online and have them issued without the need to come in person? The fact that these consulates and embassies operate M-F make it exceedingly cumbersome to travel for the sake of applying for a visa.

It doesn't issue visas though since it's an honorary consulate. Residents of Washington state have to go to the Austrian consulate in LA for visa matters.

Not much different from the US modus operandi in terms of issuing visas to foreign nationals from countries that can't use ESTA. ;)
