BRU transfers, non schengen to US.
 

Travelling through BRU shortly, arriving on an SN flight from BHX and transferring to a UA flight.

Reports in the UK are suggesting considerable delays for passengers arriving on flights from outside the Schengen area of the EU at passport checkpoints. Although not intending to enter the Shengen area, I do know that at several airports in Europe you are required to still go through passport control, and the Brussels Airline website is particularly unhelpful, only stating that you may have to go through security when transfering Terminal B to B.

Since I am not familiar with BRU, any advice or recent experiences would be welcome.

BRU has the "normal" setup for transfer passengers for airports in the Schengen area: passport control if you go from Schengen to non-Schengen or vice-versa (so not for you) and security if you arrive from a non-Schengen country (so you do need to go through security).

The airport's website is a lot clearer and even has some videos showing you the route to follow. Note that flights to the US can also leave from the "T" pier (at the end of the A pier - which is normally the "Schengen" pier). There are buses between "B" and "T" so that transfer passengers don't have to enter Schengen.

UA flights leave from B, so it'll be B to B transfer. You will disembark at the lower level of B, clear security and go up to the departures level. Sometimes they check passport when you deplane. SN lounge (which you may use as *G) is one level above the departures level.
