Seeking advice on how to spend a few hours in Zurich

I have a 6h20m layover in ZRH coming up and I would like to spend some time in the city. I arrive at 6:15am, and fly out again at 12:35pm. I will be in J, so will have lounge/shower access and priority security, etc.

I would appreciate insights on the best way into the city (time/convenience matters more than money), how long I can spend there and most importantly, where to go and what to see.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I had this same dilemma over Memorial Day weekend, flying ORD-ZRH-LIS with about 8 hours in ZRH. I showered in the Swiss lounge, left my bag in a locker outside security (near the trains to the city), then trained to the Hauptbahnhof. Train ride into the city center was about ten minutes. I wandered towards the lake to take pictures and noticed they have boat rides around the lake for around 8 Euro for an hour and a half or so (look for Burkliplatz). I did this, had a few beers on the boat, talked to some other tourists, and really enjoyed the beautiful Lake Zurich/Alps views! Highly recommend it.

As noted in #3 the boat ride is worth it.
A 50 minute RT to Mt. Uteliberg is also nice.
Clearing security at ZRH (even in the morning) is pretty fast.
So once you get to the main station, walking along Bahnhofstrasse (lots of upscale shops to browse) to the end at Berkliplatz for the boat trip (at XX:10 and XX:40, in the summer) for most of the day might be nice. (15 to 20 minute walk).
[Inside Hauptbahnhof at the end of the great hall is the tourist info office...they could make further suggestions.'

National Museum is great, but doesn't open until 10am.
