Optimal time to book?

Hey guys.

I'm going to San Francisco (SFO) for three months this summer (from BGO, Norway, ultimately going back to KRS, Norway), from early June to early September. Should I book my ticket ASAP (return ticket is starting at around 1100 USD at the moment) or is it likely that the price drops in a few months?

I'll probably have to use KLM/AirFrance/Delta or SAS (or perhaps Icelandic Air that still offer two checked in luggages on Economy on transatlantic flights), as not many carriers offer flights to the US from these not too big Norwegian airports.

Thanks a lot :)

This is just a (slightly) educated guess, but I think 1100 is a good fare for this trip, probably as good as you'll find. Waiting is, of course, a gamble. . . . I doubt it would change more than USD150 either way over the next couple of months, and my guess would be you'd see a rise in price more likely than a fall.

the last 2 years, there were lots of complaining about $1300 & more fares from here to europe.....you might want to wait thru late jan & hope for fare sales.....

perhaps some european fters will join in....
