Connection time in Brussels
 

Hello - This Thursday, I'm leaving for a flight from IAD-MXP via BRU. I'm flying UA to BRU then SN to MXP. I'm concerned about the connection time in Brussels - about 1 hour 40 minutes. I know my bags will check through but believe I will have to change terminals. Does anyone have any insight as to if this is enough time to make the connection or can pass along any helpful hints.

You'll be fine, especially with checked through luggage. The Brussels airport isn't that big.

I have flown IAD BRU many times, though only once with a transfer. The only delays I have ever had was waiting for my bicycle box once at the odd-size luggage area. I flew with only a carryon last time and was through passport control and customs about 8 minutes after getting off the plane. 6 of that was the long walk down the hallway.

There also aren't too many other flights around at that time. I feel like most people in the baggage claim area are on their way out already by the time the United flight lands, so I would guess most transfer pax are already through transfer security at that point.

I flew IAD-BRU last saturday. Flight arrived about 35 minutes early. I had been monitoring this flights the whole week before and noticed it was nearly always early.
Flight normally arrives at a gate very close to passport control.

You will have to change terminals, the walk is long, and you will have to pass a security check again. There is a fast lane, but not for premiers of all airlines.

1 h 40 minutes is more than enough time to transfer.
