Renting a car in Belgium - ok with US or Hong Kong Driver's License?

I'm planning on renting a car in Belgium soon, and was wondering if I need to get an International Drivers' License or if my US or Hong Kong one (I have both) should suffice.

I'm sure your US license will be sufficient for the rental company as well as for the police. Don't know about the Hong Kong one, is it translated in English as well?

Whether the rental company accepts it and whether it is legal are two different things. In Czech Republic, Germany, France and England (and therefore I presume Belgium) an international license is legally required to drive.
