AUH Transit Experience

Hey everyone! I'm connecting at AUH for the first time soon. My flight (EY) is arriving early afternoon with my next flight (also EY) departing about 2 hours later. Both legs in J. Will this connection allow for some time in the lounge? I've heard it's great. Anything else I should know about the transit experience to make sure that everything goes smoothly? Thank you! :)

Hello there! Assuming your first flight comes on time, 2 hours should allow you to spend more than an hour in the lounge. The walk from the gate through security and into the lounge will take you approximately 15 minutes, depending on the gate you arrive from.

I've never seen a fast track security lane at AUH though and I'm not sure whether there is one. Maybe because the queues are usually short and fast, I didn't bother looking for it.

Thank you! Sounds far easier than some of my previous experiences.

I saw signs for one a couple weeks ago, but the lane itself was closed, presumably due to low volumes.

It was busier when I was there a few weeks ago but it was still closed. I suggested in my post-flight survey that they should amalgamate us with the parent/child lane because I saw many of them going through while I waited 15 minutes. They don’t reply and I doubt they will take notice. I’ll be there again in two weeks so we’ll see.
