KMIA potential

Hey ft board,

I am wondering with EK starting the Miami route if Etihad is planning to start this route as there as AA with a broad Latin American network has a huge presence here in Miami?(Have bunch of miles I'd like to use from AA- I am moving to AUH eoy)

I'd say zero chance, given the general state of the airline and market conditions.

AA partnership is almost dead - code-shares are gone, only limited FF partnership is still there (but without tier recognition/benefits).

I just booked a single ITIN with EY and AA. i don't think its dead just yet. EY joining *A would be amazing right about now though if we were to lose a USA partner.

I think this is more like a standard Interline agreement which is the lowest level of airline co-op. EY has many of these, as per the GDS:

EY-607 ETIHAD AIRWAYS

MAY ISSUE TICKETS INCLUDING
AA AC AD AF AH AI AM AR AT AV AY AZ A3 A9
BA BG BI BP BR BT B2 B6 B8 CA CI CM CO CX
CZ ED EI EK ET EW EY FB FI FJ FM FT FV GA
GF G3 HA HG HM HO HP HR HU HX HY IB IC IG
IR JJ JP JQ JU KA KC KE KK KL KM KQ KU KX
LA LG LH LO LP LR LX LY ME MF MH MI MK MN
MS MU MX NH NX NZ OA OD OK OM OS OU OV OZ
PC PG PR PS PU PW PX PZ QF QN QR QV RA RB
RJ RO SA SB SC SK SN SQ SU SV SW S2 S7 TA
TG TK TP TU T0 UA UL UN UX VA VE VK VN VS
VV VX VY V3 WB WF WS WY W3 XL XY YM ZH Z5
2A 3L 3U 4C 4M 4Q 4U 8M 8U 9B 9U
If they join *A they will automatically get UA as a FF partner (also for tier recognition that they do not have with AA today). But even within *A many airlines are trying different paths: e.g. TP has FF partnership with B6, SN co-operates with HU etc.
