Photos of two planes on final approach to AUH

The weather in Abu Dhabi finally has improved enough to sit outside and read. Unfortunately I didn’t react quickly enough with my camera, but I just saw an EY A380 on final approach to AUH tailing a narrow body jet, the livery of which I didn’t catch (although it appeared to be a red commercial livery; not EY). I know that this likely was an optical illusion, but I saw shockingly little separation between the two planes. Still, I was surprised by this.

Are you sure that lead aircraft is a narrow body? Wings look like a 787.

This will probably be practice fly by flights for the F1 Grand Prix later this month. The red livery will be the F1 787 A6-BLV

You’re probably right. I assume it’s the curvature of the wings that give it away.
