Skipping the AUH to Dubai Bus?

Hi Guys,

Booked my first ever flight with Etihad to Dubai from LHR. It's a Business Classic fare inbound and Business Saver outbound. It's booked me onto a bus for both legs to and from Dubai. Does this count as a ticketed segment so skipping the bus would cancel the rest of my ticket?

I am planning to get a cab from AUH to Dubai outbound and then use the included chauffeur on the return.

It shouldn't, they don't treat the bus as a real segment but I have never tried TBH. I always only book to AUH then either use the CD or make my own way, don't fancy getting on that bus

I asked on twitter, as above the bus isn't formally classed as a sector so will not invalidate the ticket by classing as a 'no-show'

At least when I have my meltdown at check in I'll have a printout from @EtihadHelp to wave about!

I booked this twice and never saw the Etihad Bus from the inside - nobody cared and checkin for the return flight in AUH was possible without problems in both instances.

Not necessarily, but it is just the only way to get to DXB with Etihad. There are a variety of reasons for using Etihad - depending on the flying dates Etihad may be less expensive than using BA, EK, etc.

The OP may have Etihad status - you will need to either PM or wait for a posted answer

I didn't think about it really, did a Google flights wanting to go to Dubai business class and not pay the 8000GBP VS or 6000GBP EK wanted. EY came up at 4000GBP so I clicked book, then wondered if I could enhance my journey by skipping the bus.

Has anybody done this recently?
I want to fly to MAD-AUH-return, but i find the the price for MAD-XNB is round half the cost (2000 for AUG, and 1000 for AUH)
Ideally i wouldn't go to Dubai and never use the bus and all, i would just stay in AUH.
Will this ben an issue? Are tickets really NOT scanned for the bus, can i really just avoid the BUS, and there is no risk of no show?

Being as they're giving free chauffeurs to dubai even for economy passengers right now I doubt you will have an issue because the chauffeur is certainly not scanning any tickets

Free chauffeurs instead of the bus? And to the Chauffeurs take you to our hotel instead of the bus station?

https://www.etihad.com/en-gb/book/ai...eur-promotions

Book by 31st October for use until 30th November direct to and from your door and double miles to boot ! Your booking MUST be to Dubai - which for some weird reason is half the price in Business than stopping at AUH but hey ho

Oh but ;
