New reduced baggage rules for redemption tickets starting Jan 31?

Just noticed this in my December e-statement (haven't received the January one yet):

"As of 31 January 2018, the baggage allowance you’re granted with Redemption Tickets will be reduced. Book now to take advantage of the current generous baggage allowance we offer before it changes."

The email gives no more info, just a 'Book Now' link. Anyone have any more details on this? Search of Etihad.com and Google turn up nothing.

Update: Contacted support and got this response.

"Hi xobile, as the information is not yet published on our website, we will not be able to give you this information just yet. Please bear with us a few more days."

Very good spot. Gmail always trims their emails, and they've conveniently placed it at the very bottom.

This doesn't even make logical sense.. surely there isn't a cost saving here? Just an unnecessary attack on customer loyalty...

Stuff like this is usually more to do with an employee trying to impress his/her boss than actually improving the business.

Very true - but unfortunately that's when you know you've got business model all wrong.
