Does that mean they finally have a competent call center (Serbia).......or is it still needle in a haystack stuff finding an agent who can book partner awards?

They are pretty competent in Serbia. No need to roll the dice.

I also had good experience with Serbian call centre. In Abu Dhabi call centre they always sound a bit/quite grumpy.

My experience of the Serbian centre was also very positive. They even rang back when promised when something could not be sorted.

the big problem with Etihad was the ordinary customer service people who dealt or more likely did not with the email and web based Enquiries

Just call late in the day (or early if you are in US) where Serbia will be working and it should divert to them.

Is this idea based on actual recent DPs of calls diverting to another location?
It would be good to learn the details. The post no. 420 above seems to imply that time of day should not make a difference.

I called in the middle of the night (Serbian time) and got a Serbian agent.

My last 3 calls did connect with the Serbian call center and it was at a time in which they would definitely be working but its not a fool proof theory.

How has thew married segment policies imposed by AA affect what Etihad agents are able to see?

AA.com = Etihad?

Etihad seems to be a strict subset of AA.com. This means many direct routes are hidden, yes, though I've had some luck getting nonstops to appear by paying a few extra miles for J/F.

Etihad Partner Redemptions

As soon as something out of the ordinary happens, it seems that EY has no clue how to handle situation.

Two redemptions (DAD-BKK on PG and DAC-CMB on UL) on two partner airlines. Agent was able to make a booking (both had availability) and calculate taxes but, because the miles required for those flights were not specifically stated on their websites, they had to put in a request to calculate miles.

I have been told to call back 24 hours later every day for the past six days. Every agent I have spoken to has been super nice but I just don't understand how this is that challenging for someone on their back office team to calculate the required miles?
I have made 3 succesful bookings with EY miles
- BRU to JFK on SN. 36k EY miles in J
- PRG to ICN on OK. 52k EY miles in J
- BOM to LHR on 9W. 126k EY miles in J

Each time I called the manchester call centre. 03456081225. The agents there seem to be competent

Will add another point of reference for the Serbian office.
Recently booked AA F
First agent was very good. Confirmed everything in minutes. I then took an hour to confirm my dates etc and called back.
Second agent was not as good, and didnt seem to think I could book connections, quoted the wrong price etc, but seemed keen to help so managed to find the original agent to ask for assistance. Ticketed quickly aftet that.
was quite pleased with the result.

Paid $1 for ticket plus taxes the same as someone mentioned up thread.
