Etihads A380 delivery and Schedule
Hi.. Is there any reason why Etihad keeps changing their A380 schedule? Is there a problem at Airbus or something else? Reading through various threads it is clearly frustrating for someone wanting to book a premium cabin to experience both their hard and soft product on the A380. I am planning a trip to Sydney from London towards the end of June and their booking engine is showing a 380 all the way to Sydney. How likely are Etihad likely to stick to their 1st June 380 start up services?

From the list - the frames for EK /LH and BA who first flew around the time of A6-APB and APC's first flights have been delivered.
I can't imagine these two (which EY needs to start SYD) are too far behind.

Yes that was my thinking too. However as Etihad were supposed to start the 2nd a380 service from 1st April Auh-Lhr which has now been delayed till Aug I'm still a bit skeptical about the Sydney service.
Etihads plan was to make all 3 London bound flights a380 prior to stating Sydney meaning they would need a total 4 380s before 1st june. I don't see that happening.

EY11/12 daily,
EY19/20 6 times a week if it wanted to and
EY454/455 also 6 times a week if it wanted to.
with some headroom for maintenance.
the life of a A380 will be somewhat like this: 11/12/454/455/19/20 back to 11/12
Not far fetched that these two frames could come in the next few weeks.

That's practically spot-on what the Etihad schedules are showing from 1st June! Only difference is that EY19/20 running 5 times a week until 28th July thereafter 6 times a week

Wait what? This is terrible terrible news. I also booked a trip for late October thinking EY would have regular A388 service to SYD by then.

You should be ok as the Sydney service should stat as of the 1st June. However wether it's a daily service or 4/5 times weekly no one exactly knows. If it is showing the 380 on the days you wish to fly then I am guessing that it will be on flt no 454/455.
