Bulkhead seat in business

This is correct. Or it was when I travelled with my wife and son a couple of years ago.
Most of the flights we given bulkhead. But a couple of occasions, these seats had been taken and we had to sit in normal seats. On one flight, a family of eight took up eight of the bulkhead seats, because they were travelling with one infant. Where as my wife who travelled alone with an 18 month old did not get a bulkhead seat as they were all taken. On that occasion she checked in 3.5 hours before the flight at Manchester & still didn't get the seat.
