Transfers?

Are Etihad members permitted to share / transfer points between each other, even where there might be a fee?

I'm not sure if this helps but when I was adding some to my account there was a big drop down list of people eligible. They need to already have their own Etihad Guest membership number before you can add them to your 'family' account.

Family Membership
Etihad Guest lets you pool all the Etihad Guest Miles earned by anyone in your family (up to eight members) into one single account and benefit from the added flexibility of a Family Membership – to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.

You can not transfer between accounts. You can only designate a head of family and get miles credited as they're earned, though not tier miles, into that one account.

will i be able to use my miles to purchase a entry into Etihad's lounge. My wife has enough miles to purchase entry into Manchester but she would not be able to join me in abu dhabi unless i can buy them for her.

I think that answers it, so it would seem that the maximum number of miles available to one person is the aggregate of miles across 8 accounts, perhaps not 'a swap ' but more like a conferred benefit on the end user
