Etihad Diamond lounge at LHR - Nice or not?
Hi folks,
what should I expect as a First class flier at LHR? Is the nice lounge? Comparable to BA's? Thanks! |
EY Biz and First share the same lounge at T4. BA's main lounge at T5 is a pain to get to (IMHO) and then it is a pain to get to your flight especially if you then have to take the train to one of the other satellites. Usually you cannot find out your gate unless you go through some hoops so the the satellite lounges are of limited benefit if you arrive early for a flight. EK's lounge at T4 on the other hand is approximately 50 metres from the gate that they typically use ... A big thumbs up there then. As for the lounge and its facilities all I can say is that I like it very much and although the buffet food offerings are somewhat limited they also have an a la carte dining menu so you can expand your choices. The food itself has been consistently good. Not a huge lounge but then it does not need to be but ambiancewise it is nice.

As for BA, well if you're flying F out of T5 you walk straight from security and into the CCR. |

Etihads lounge at LHR is superb...its tucked away below (lift available) the skyteam lounge. Wonderful helpfull staff. The food and drinks selection are second to none, self or waitered service available, and even a quick pre-flight massage available. You will not be dissapointed

No. The T5 GF requires you to converse the maze of escalators. As you come up to the first level and pass the Elemis Spa that is the rear of the CCR.

That is exactly why I describe it as a pain to get to in my earlier post - thanks for supporting my view.

I personally do not mind T5 layout. I think it's pretty neat.

Etihad use the Thai royal silk lounges in BKK. They are very dull and the food terrible. Ive started a thread about why they dont have their own lounge (now knowing BKK is their busiest route).. Ive e-mailed Etihad about this and will post their reply. It would be interesting to hear other readers views on this, thanks

in my opinion the First class lounge at LHR is one of the best ive had the pleasure to stay in.
Service has always been top notch. Far better than there effort at AUH and also better in my opinion than anything EK has to offer in the same class. As far as the so called loung in BKK is concerned its better than nothing, seats are in need of a clean, food is dire but plenty of booze if thats your thing. Also tends to be very warm inside but nothing that turning the thermostat down doesnt fix. Maybe considering the fact that WY gives Etihad passengers so much hassle when trying to credit miles we could all use there nice little lounge which is miles better than the Thai? |

Depends if the OP was referring to the CCR or GF. I'd say the T4 EY lounge is comparable to GF, but obviously the CCR beats it hands down, as it's a dedicated First class lounge. |
