Tier Status Help?
 

Trying to get to grips with Tier Status, after joining Skywards after securing F to Cape Town for less then £2k, after completing the trip I've looked at my statement and I have 47,000 miles and 32,000 status points for the 1 trip (treble points for the 2nd Cape Town leg as I noticed I could register for the promotion while I was there!)

Question is with 32,000 tier miles, my account is still showing as Blue Status - when do I move to Silver ??

Can't believe I've got a free J flight LON - DXB, are Emirates given it away these days!

You need 80'000 miles to redeem a J LHR-DXB. Yopur status should change to silver within 2 or 3 days!

One other quick question, if I'm travelling with a colleague, as a Silver member if we fly through Dubai, can he accompany me in the lounge ?

Nope. Only Golds can take in a guest.

And as a Silver you wont be able to access the T3 lounge - you'll have to walk to the T1 lounge. However, that's a better lounge anyway, and it's only a 5 minute brisk walk.

is t3 first class lounge any better than buisness, or is that still packed to the gills.

I was in the T3 F Lounge at 6.30am for an 8.40 flight last Sunday and at midday for a 2.15 flight on Saturday and the place was almost deserted both times!

Thanks I will be in there from 1230 a.m. till 0430. so I hope it will not be crowded.

This time the lounge is always deserted. Rush hour starts usually from 06:00 Hrs when the Asian flights start coming in. But having said that even during rush hour the lounge is NEVER packed.
