how is Global miles offer calculated
 

hi there..

I was wondering how the global miles are calculated. If you fly business or first it should be triple miles..

So i flew Business class PEK-DXB 3,631miles, and the global miles promotion is 7,262 miles.

am i correct in assuming the calculation is as follows:

3631 original miles (for economy)
3631
3631
total: 10893..

It should be calculated:
5447 + (5447 x 3) = 21788

or at least

5447 + (5447 x 2) = 16341

But i guess i'm asking too much ..

Basically, as advertised "tripple miles" for F & J, is twice the economy miles, plus your F 0r J miles plus your status bonus.

Therefore:

PEK-DXB in J - Silver Status =

Y class PEK-DXB 3'631
Bonus 3'631
J Class miles 5'447
Gold Tier (50%) 1'815
Total 14'524

That's how I have been working it out anyway, and I have been more or less spot on.

Its always calculated on the base (ecomony) miles.

Thus, as D_T_B stated:

Economy Miles - Tier Miles
+
Economy miles x 2
+
Class Bonus (50% or 100%) - Tier Miles
+
Status Bonus (25% or 50%)

+ 50% Business class bonus

Your Skywards statement will something like this:
