Hi all,first of all im new to Emirates Airlines Skyward Forum.

I'll soon be flying Emirates Y , how is the seat/entertaiment etc.....

Do they have plans to fly to Vancouver(YVR) ?

Y in Emirates is as good as Y can be. You get a very decent entertainment system, sometimes with quite big 16:9 screens which makes you feel like you aren't watching on a tiny airplane screen but rather on a good car DVD built-in system.

You get from some dozens (older systems) to some hundreds of movies, so you'll definitely find something even for the longest flights. Also, there are some dozen games and some tv serials, if you don't like watching longer movies.

Seating pitch is ok, but of course it's Y, so try to get exit row if possible (As Skywards Blue, this might be difficult, but always try to ask at the airport)

Food is better than average on long haul, and unless the flight is fully booked out you should be good to get another round in case you're hungry. Drinks can always be found free of charge in the galley (on long haul)

Oh, and if you haven't, register for Skywards, it's pretty easy to get 25.000 miles for Silver membership.

Vancouver isn't linked with Emirates, but they got Toronto and SF on their destinations.

However he overlooks one key fact which I feel is important! Emirates Y on 777 is 3-4-3 abreast. I don't mean to start that old argument again, but you should be aware of this, and make your own judgement.

I used to enjoy flying Y on the A330. I did it once on the 777, in 2006, and vowed never again. I found the narrowness uncomfortable in the extreme. If you're a narrower person than me, or travelling with a friend next to you, then maybe you can stand it.

The seat width is actually only 1.5" narrower than airlines having 3-3-3 configuration on 777.

The space has been taken from the aisles, so an aisle seat can be unpleasant.

Thank you for explaning to me.
For the past few years , i've been flying with Cathay Pacific and i just flew SIN-HKG-YVR-HKG-SIN , the new seat is horribly bad.
I tried asking for a second serving of food(i did not have breakfast), they give me a kind of look.

Is Emirates Y a normal seat that reclines , cause i dont wish to fly with another airline with sliding seat.

Well , thats dissapointing that EK dont fly to Vancouver :eek:

Maybe 1 day i'll try flying SIN-DUBAI(im not sure the airport code)-SIN

Looks like Emirates wants to maximize the space on the side then forward.

In some way its good and bad.

Whats the seat pitch between your seat and the seat infront of you ?
For most airline its 32''

According to seatguru, it is 34".

Wow , not really spacious by 2''
