How many suites installed

I am considering booking First Class London Gatwick to Auckland. Part of the reason for booking First Class is to take advantage of the Suites.

Can anyone tell me how many of the B777's used from Gatwick to Dubai and how many of the A340-500's Dubai to Auckland (via Oz) have been upgraded with the First Class Suites.

I am loathe to book only to find the aircraft doesn't have suites, especially on the long leg from Dubai to Auckland.

If you're flying via SYD you will fly the A380 (highly recommended).
If you're flying via MEL or BNE, make sure you're on the non-stop flights as those are the ones with the suites (A345).
Now sure about the Gatwick flights.

Thanks edy4eva.

By non-stop do you mean non-stop DXB-MEL/BNE? That's all the fares page is offering me. Or do they do routes that go via Singapore, or wherever? Don't think there is a non-stop DXB-AKL.

Based on what we can afford it looks like we will manage the A380 on the return leg but working out quite a bit dearer to do both ways. Should have booked earlier I guess!

Non-stop means direct DXB to OZ( MEL , SYD or BNE)

You can use EK's "Services by flight" to check the type of aircraft & cabin your route will have ...

I have tried the service finder but was a bit concerned at the rider at the bottom of the page where it says not all aircraft have been upgraded. I assumed that meant that they sometimes use an aircrfat that hasn't yet had the suites installed.

That's correct but once you put your dates in you can play around and see if there's a flight the prev/next day with suites ...

Of course there's always a (slim) chance the scheduled suites plane can get swapped to non-suites due to a technical issue

EK timetables will tell you. Class will be either "First (Private Suite)" or "First". With reservation fro technical/operational substitutions.

Thanks everyone. Booked it last night. LGW-DXB, DXB-AKL and AKL-DXB in suites. the final leg DXB-LGW is not suites but had to go for that to fit inwith an onward flight. And the AKL-DXB is A380.

Really looking forward to it. thanks for all the advice.

It's odd that I had a regular F seat LHR to DBX and then on the connection to Chennai - got the 777 with a "Suite"..... talk about bizarre!!!
