I always accumulate UA miles when flying Emirates. Does anybody know if the current EK double miles promotion also applies to UA miles?

I don't think so that is applicable. They are affilated so you can earn miles when flying United but i don't think you can earn double miles. And the miles you earn thru United don't count towards your "tier" miles!
